Counselors’ Powwow

The Counselors of the Learner Support Centre from JBCN Borivali, hosted a Counselors’ POWWOW. POWWOW is a synonym for conclave or conference. The counselors of JBCN School truly believe in the quote of L. R. Knost “Taking care of myself doesn’t mean ‘me’ first. It means ‘ME’ too.”

The POWWOW was organized with the objective of building a community of counselors, to encourage each other in providing support and valuable resources to each other.

It was a great initiative by the Learner Support Centre of JBCN to organise the POWWOW for professionals in the city. Dr Tanuju Prem, an eminent speaker addressed the gathering on a session in self-care ‘Swayam’. She is a Psychotherapist, Life Leadership Trainer, an Educationist, Special Educator and a Drama Therapist. She guided the team on “how to manage themselves effectively”. It was truly an enriching experience for each of them.

The POWWOW then continued with a ‘MEET and GREET’ activity. It was concluded beautifully with a MINDFULNESS session by Ms. Geeta Dalal. Each participant was given a ‘Happiness Pills’ souvenir as a take away. The significance of the souvenir was to remind each professional that ‘You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first’.
