As Oscar Wilde said, “The aim of life is self-development to realize one’s nature perfectly.” My years, as an educator have taught me that if the rich loam of the mind is augmented with the values of Determination, Compassion and Tolerance the scions of good learning and character will grow into strong trees and result in a better world.
The world as we know it today is a lot different from the one that surrounded us while we were growing up. The realm today is evolving at such an accelerated speed and we as educators need to pause and reflect on this entire system of Education. Are our schools well equipped to prepare our children to face the challenges that the future holds?
Aristotle once said that, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” And this is exactly what we have based our program that aims at educating the Mind, the Body and the Soul. At JBCN, what is unique is that we allow our learners to explore and discover, to question and to find answers, and to think for themselves instead of merely following instructions.
A steadfast and supportive management, dedicated teachers, compassionate and co-operative parents blend symphonically to create a child-centric school. And this I believe is essential for a happy environment for children to learn and to grow.
As Socrates aptly quoted that Wisdom Begins with Wonder, and I sincerely hope that educators and parents around the world allow children the opportunity to explore, question and discover at a pace that each child sets for him or herself. Together let us educate the future leaders of our country to be responsible and compassionate.
