A Raisin in the sun

Grade 7 staged an adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun on 30TH April, 2019. The play was inspired by Langston Hugh’s Poem Harlem that talks about what happens when a dream is differed. There were beautiful medleys of songs, dances, poetry recitations in the interludes and of course, brilliant acting. The student-driven activity brought out their team work spirit, their dedication, hard work, ability to memorise large amounts of information in a short period of time and their enthusiasm towards learning. It was a pleasure to experience their depiction of African-American lives, History and culture. The audience enjoyed themselves and from their reviews, the show was a hit!
