JBCN Education is proud to announce an Entrepreneurship Summer Programme conducted exclusively by Columbia Business School (CBS), as a part of their Summer School Activities In Mumbai. Columbia Business School (CBS) is the Business school of Columbia University in Manhattan, New York City. It is one of the six Ivy League Business schools, and is among the most selective of top business schools in the world. Teaches courses in entrepreneurship, venture creation, and product innovation. Prior to joining the Columbia Business School, Jack was Vice Dean for Columbia’s Engineering School. Over the past 17 years, Jack has been an active member of the University’s entrepreneurial community, establishing an undergraduate minor in entrepreneurship, teaching core and advanced courses in new venture creation & growth, and launching the Columbia-Harlem Small Business Development Center. Jack is the driving force behind Venture for All® designed to educate aspiring entrepreneurs and build capacity for high potential startup ventures in emerging markets.

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The theme for this year's Summer Programme is - Global Entrepreneurship and Innovation

The course is designed to include both outdoor and indoor activities. Other than the curriculum, the course will also incorporate guest speakers, factory visits and an opportunity to visit a start up/ business incubator to gain hands on experience of the various stages in moving an idea into a tangible and profitable business proposition. Participants will undergo classroom sessions followed by the option of reconvening in their groups within Yogi Mansion (JBCN, Parel campus) and working on their projects further during the course of the day.

Application Process

  • Click on the 'Apply Now' button and download the registration form.
  • Fill up the Registration Form and scan the duly filled and signed copy.
  • The soft copies of the following are also required with the scanned copy of the application form:
    • 1 clear digital picture in passport size
    • Statement of Interest & Commitment to the Program in a word document (in about 300 words)
    • Biography in a word document (100-300 words reflecting educational background and any extracurricular experience)
  • Email the registration form with the required attachments to admissions@columbiaglobal.education
  • Upon acceptance, the applicant will be sent a confirmation email with payment instructions to initiate the admission process.

In addition to being a dynamic program teaching international pedagogy and giving an IVY league education to students in India, the Summer program differs from others as we also have an exclusive line-up of guest speakers from the industry and corporate India to share their experiences and journey with students and visit to an incubating centre where many young entrepreneurs brain storm and make their dreams a reality. The program is designed to be practical and experiential rather than pure theory and that is our USP.
The class size is limited as there is a rigorous selection process and few students are chosen for the program. Maximum strength is 30. The age of students range from 15 to 18+ years old.
Students have to register through the link provided on the website, and fill in an application form which has an application essay question as well. Based on the answers the professors at CBS select the students to participate in the program and an email is sent out with a confirmation.
The program has tremendous value as a CERTIFICATE of participation is given to all students from Columbia Business School, USA. On final presentation, the best group presentation and best product idea also receive special certification and a PERSONALISED reference letter from a Columbia professor. This in turn CAN be used for college application purposes.
Yes, this program has been successfully training and teaching young high school students around the world since the last few years from Singapore, Dubai, Phillipines, Taiwan, China and India.
Last year it was successfully done in Mumbai and some alumni are happy to talk and interact with students. Please email us your query and we’ll put you in touch with an alumni.
Once the student successfully completes the program, the professor shares his details to keep in touch directly with him and in every successive program; students have an opportunity to become TA’s (Teacher Assistants) for the next batch.
