Grade VI & VII:
The Grade VI programme has been planned considering your ward’s all-round development of mind, body and soul. In Grade VI your ward can now independently make their own choices and therefore they choose the co-curricular that they are interested in. Your ward is also introduced to various clubs that help them to have a better understanding about the world around and give them a deeper understanding of themselves. Through the Life Skills programme we help to instill values perseverance, self-discipline, compassion, and get them to express their inner thoughts on various situation and events that occur in their lives.
Children today need to know not only the basic reading and arithmetic skills, but also skills that will allow them to face a world that is continually changing. They must be able to think critically, to analyze, and to make inferences. The Grade VI academic programme builds on core curricular foundation skills in Math, Science and English. Children now prepare themselves to take Unit Reviews and Scheduled Tests.
The curriculum in action encourages the development of oral communication skills, an investigative approach, the use of initiative to solve problems and the ability to undertake both individual projects and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Grade VIII:
The Grade VIII programme has been planned keeping in mind your ward’s preparation to make his/her board subject choices during the year which will be pursued in Grade IX & X.
Respect, kindness, honesty, courage, perseverance, self-discipline, compassion, generosity – these are values we continue to instill in our children through the Life Skill session every week in class. Doing so will protect them from negative societal influences and lay the foundation for them to become good human beings. Outside influences like peer pressure and the entertainment industry—through the internet, television, movies, video games and music—are having a greater effect on children; shaping their perspectives more than ever before. It is important to talk to children about what’s right and wrong, about what constitutes good behaviour and what doesn’t. But even more important is the example you yourself set for your children.

Individual goal-setting and continuous comprehensive assessments will help Grade VIII learners maintain their focus and introspect more meaningfully on their individual learning journeys.

Grade IX & X:
For our Grade IX & X learners, our efforts are channelled towards catering to their growth needs and academic proficiency. They will be looking at numerous opportunities to hone their skills – academic, interpersonal and vocational. As much as academics plays an important part, we understand that every learner may not be on the same level, when it comes to performing. For this very concern, our faculty goes the extra mile – with each child – trying to recognize and device strategies suitable for their needs.
We strongly believe that every child is gifted in some area, through assorted exposures, in the form of co-curricular activities, workshops and school clubs, we endeavor to help your child find their true calling. We also place heavy importance on value-based growth, through life skills and our specially formulated mind, body & soul programme; learners develop a more sophisticated understanding of oneself, their roots and healthy living.
We are aware of the developmental changes that learners go through during this phase and at JBCN International School, we have designed an environment that would be conducive to wholesome growing.
