At JBCN International School, the House system goes beyond friendly competition. It plays a key role in shaping a culture of excellence, leadership, and intellectual curiosity among learners. Each House has its own distinctive signage, flag, and slogan, creating a strong sense of identity that learners carry with pride into every challenge.
Inspired by legendary warrior clans, the Houses represent qualities such as courage, discipline, strategy, and resilience. These values come alive through inter-house competitions that span both academic and co-curricular arenas, from debates, quizzes, and knowledge challenges to sports and cultural events.
The House system encourages learners to think critically, collaborate effectively, and push their limits in pursuit of excellence. Through this dynamic environment, every learner is empowered to develop confidence, leadership, and the determination to excel both inside and beyond the classroom.
The Learner Council at our school is a blend of nominated and elected positions, bringing together the Head Boy and Head Girl, Assistant Head Boy and Girl, Sports Captain and Vice-Captain, House Captains and Vice-Captains, and Junior House Prefects. Most roles are filled through a transparent, democratic process that involves every learner from the Primary and Secondary School.
The Council plays a central role in planning and managing inter-house events throughout the year, including the school's annual festival.
Beyond event management, the Learner Council is about leadership in action. From motivating peers to follow the school’s uniform code to leading their houses towards winning the coveted House Trophy, Council members gain valuable experiences across sporting, creative, and academic pursuits.
